Goals of the Society

1. Assembling persons of the target group by organizing and carrying out scientific congresses and meetings. The meetings will be closed meetings; participation and attendance at these meetings is by invitation only. An invitation and a call for scientific papers will be distributed in due time. The mode of organizing and holding the meetings can be changed by the vote of the Board of Trustees. Open teaching can be held in conjunction with the closed meeting.
   
2. Supporting education as well as research and development in the field of imaging.
   
3. Organization of committees and provision of definitions for scientific and technical standards in order to support the exchange of scientific and technical information and skills through the organization of meetings, lecture and debate evenings, symposia and workshops as well as national and international congresses.
   
4. Distribution of information about themes concerning the Society by supporting and sponsoring scientific specialist publications.
   
5. Supporting the founding of a uniform education programme in this field.

Teaching the Purposes of the Society:

1. High quality meetings will be the basis for the future.
   
2. The results and discussions of the meetings should be brought to the interested public.
   
3. The borderlines of radiology have to be exceeded to other important social institutions like industry, government, insurance companies and the World Health Organization.
